Understand Your Soil Test
Turn your laboratory report into plain English without guessing at fertilizer or amendment rates.
Entries stay in this browser. This tool does not send your soil-test entries to NutriHarvest.
1. Enter what your laboratory reported
Raw numbers are optional. The important field is the laboratory's own interpretation.
| Test item | Reported value (optional) | Lab interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| pH | ||
| Organic matter | ||
| Nitrogen (N) | ||
| Phosphorus (P) | ||
| Potassium (K) |
2. Did your lab give a fertilizer recommendation?
Enter it exactly as shown. This section does not create a recommendation; it helps you carry the lab's recommendation into the Fertilizer Calculator.
Why this tool is conservative
- Different laboratories may use different phosphorus extraction methods and interpretation ranges.
- Soil-test recommendations are crop- and region-specific. The lab or local Extension recommendation should take priority.
- pH alone is not enough to calculate a lime or sulfur rate, so this tool does not prescribe either.
- “High” phosphorus is a reason to be cautious about adding more phosphorus unless the report specifically recommends it.
